Gert Anckaert

Gert was raised on a farm, in a large family, where necessity was the mother of invention.  Both her parents applied their considerable skills and creative talents to building and sustaining a life for their family.

Half a  century later,  Gert enjoys the privileged life of an artist.

Her practice is informed by the beauty of Southern Ontario; the sweet little corner of this earth , where her parents brought her, so many years ago.

She also uses materials that are found, discarded, recycled, upcycled, inherited, with an eye to those same principles instilled in her.  Waste not, want not.
