Doris is a graduate of Lambton College Arts and Journalism and local Ontarian who always had an appreciation of the arts. She fell in love with the way water colours flowed together and thus embarked upon her study of art. She studies with various local art instructors.
Experimenting in several art mediums lead her to work with the vibrant colours of acrylic paints, especially when capturing the beauty of Canada’s small fishing villages. The flowing motion of oils on a canvas being spread by a palette knife has made oils one of her favourite mediums.
Although many of her paintings are done in her studio she enjoys painting plein aire with friends. Travelling throughout the world has enhanced the way she looks at her subject matter and the combinations and variations of colour. The Brush and Palette Club has been a tremendous support in the development of her art journey.
